Mosquito Joe sold its first franchise in early 2013 and ever since, it’s been charging forward full throttle. We now have 169 territories open across 27 states. All that growth in just four years has definitely made the time fly for us. We have been very busy hosting prospective franchisees, training new franchisees, and supporting our Mosquito Joe locations as they launch and grow their businesses. As busy as we’ve been, in the middle of what we like to call “happy chaos,” it is easy for us to forget to take a step back and acknowledge the progress and milestones we’re reaching along the way.
That said, recently we ran face-first into a really exciting accomplishment that made us step back and really be proud of our company’s growth and success in our first year of franchising. Last week it was announced that Mosquito Joe made the 128 spot in Inc. 5000’s list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. That’s right, we made the top 3% of the list and we couldn’t be more proud!
“The Inc. 5000 list stands out where it really counts,” says Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “It honors real achievement by a founder or a team of them. No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great – usually from scratch. That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails.”
The average company on the list achieved a mind-boggling three-year growth of 433%. The companies on the list collectively generated 640,000 jobs over the past three years, or about 8% of all jobs created in the entire economy during that period – a statistic in which we’re proud to be included.
Head Joe and CEO Kevin Wilson said “There’s no doubt that this is going to be another strong year for us, from both a development and educational perspective. We’re excited to grow into new territories this year, and ultimately take the Mosquito Joe brand to the next level.”
While we know in our hearts that this opportunity is a great one and that mosquito control is so important, to be recognized by Inc. was a big moment for Mosquito Joe.
