Spirit of Giving | Real Property Management Rental Direction

Here’s a heart-warming story appropriate for the holiday season from our Real Property Management Rental Direction office in Fort Myers, Florida.

Daniel Boucinha of Real Property Management Rental Direction

Daniel Boucinha of Real Property Management Rental Direction helping someone less fortunate

Olivia Kollar, owner of the office, tell us: “Our very own Daniel Boucinha decided to give his lunch away to our local homeless man. This is not the first time Daniel has done this, the two ran across each other for the first time over 2 decades ago. Once a month, Daniel makes a point to stop by the man’s “home,” a breeze-way located near our office building, to give this gentleman a bite to eat. With the holidays coming up, our office decided to make the homeless man’s next visit with Daniel extra special. Everyone from our office chipped in a couple of dollars and we bought him a gift card to a nearby restaurant.”

Daniel has helped those less fortunate for quite some time. He states, “I started giving food to the homeless when I was younger because I learned it is very easy for us to forget or ignore people. I would give food because I would worry if I gave money they might not use it appropriately.”

More recently, about three years ago, Daniel received a number of free meal cards to a local restaurant as a thank you for helping someone. Daniel decided that since he was fortunate enough to have a job with a decent wage to afford his own lunch,  he would give the free meal coupons to people less fortunate than him. When those coupons were all given away, he began earning free meals by filling out surveys at restaurants he frequented. “What I do is really nothing special,” Daniel said. “I donate a bit of my time to fill out a survey and deliver the free food I receive to the homeless.” Daniel wishes that more people would take just a small bit of time to provide a helping hand to those less fortunate because “every little bit counts and it shows them that they haven’t been forgotten.”
