State of the Industry: U.S. Added 14,700 Franchise Jobs in May

According to the ADP National Franchise Report, U.S. private-sector franchise jobs increased by 14,700 during the month of May.

The ADP National Franchise report measures monthly changes in franchise employment and is distributed to the public each month free of charge. The ADP National Franchise Report is published by the ADP Research Institute®, a specialized group within ADP that provides insights around employment trends and workforce strategy, in collaboration with Moody’s Analytics, Inc. Each month, ADP issues the ADP National Franchise Report as part of the company’s commitment to adding deeper insights into the U.S. labor market and providing businesses, governments and others with a source of credible and valuable information.

Here is a breakdown of the data:

  • Restaurants saw a 0.2% change in May, adding 8,600 jobs.
  • Auto-parts and Dealers saw a 0.2% change, adding 2,400 jobs.
  • Food Retailers saw a 0.7% change adding 1,400 jobs.
  • Business Services saw 0.2% change adding 900 jobs.
  • Accommodations saw a 0.1% change adding 600 jobs.
